Steve is the CFO for Rooted Pursuits. Prior to joining Rooted Pursuits, he spent almost nine years as the CFO for DeKalb Central Schools. Before his time in public education, Steve was the Controller and CFO for two companies in private industry for over twenty years.

While the start of his college career was at Manchester, due to circumstances beyond his control, Steve had to leave after three semesters. He began taking odd jobs to support himself, always yearning to return to his degree and chosen career path. Through the grace of God, a local business took a chance on him with the understanding that he would continue to pursue his education. While working full time and raising a family, Steve completed his bachelor’s degree at IPFW over time.

Steve met his wife of 32 years during his short time at Manchester College. They have two sons and two daughters together and are now enjoying three grandchildren as well. Family is everything, and each Sunday is devoted to worshipping together and gathering for a meal and an afternoon of family fun.

Steve and his family have been members of County Line Church of God for over 25 years, enjoy serving in the church, and have been in a close-knit small group for nearly the entire time attending there. Steve has served on the board at County Line Church as treasurer and president, as well as at the DeKalb Chamber Partnership and DeKalb Central Foundation.
